I believe that art is the most intriguing aspect of human inventiveness. Human beings are amazing creatures. At our best, we deal in the rarefied air of language, science, music, imagination and inspiration. But visual art is special. It is a meta-language based in concept, symbolism and metaphor. It is open-ended in its references and interpretations.
Art, practiced through the discipline of craft, takes us to a place where we are open to the divine. My artwork is inherently tied to and referential of the material of glass. I believe my path to artistic resonance is achieved through investigation and expansion of the history and characteristics of my material. I am a disciple of the craft of art. My latest work is the beginning of a journey to see how far I can push the traditional roles, understanding, and technical aspects of stained glass.
