Phi

This piece takes the number phi as inspiration for a sculptural artwork. Phi is also known as the Golden Ratio. It has been used in art, architecture, and mathematics throughout history and occurs in structures in the natural world from plants to shells to galaxies. The structure of the work and pattern of the glass was inspired by a demonstration of phi found in the pattern of a sunflower growing its seeds.
